Well, it has been awhile since I've posted here. I've been really active on my gaming clan's forums and that has sucked up my creative energies. It is just more fun to debate things with people that respond than to your posts than to a blog where I am pretty much the only reader. But, just in case there are a few of you out there, I just wanted to direct you to one of my favorite new shows from last year.
It is Whale Wars. I don't remember how I discovered it. It airs on animal planet, a channel I basically never watch. But once I saw it I was hooked. I was reminded of the show recently since the second season started last Friday. If you haven't seen the show, I highly recommend you get the first season dvds and DVR this season.
The show is about a wacky group of misadventures who try to stop the whalers in the Antarctic ocean. It is such a versatile show. If you watch it with an imaginary wacka-wacka-comedy-montage-music, it becomes a hilarious comedy. If you watch it seriously, it becomes a casestudy in the purposeful obtusement and irrationality of fundamentalists. If you watch it academically, it becomes an example of the methods of propaganda of the lunatic-fringe.
In any case, it makes me want to taste some whale meat.
